Here at Vets Prevail, we honored yesterday's Troops by working to bring today's Service Members and Veterans the support they deserve when they return from combat. To better deliver that support, we've recently partnered...

Remember when WGN-TV News ran a Veteran’s Day cover story about the Vets Prevail training? Well, Memorial Day is coming up, and they have exciting new project in the works: In honor of our troops, WGNtv.com is creating an online community called 'Letters from the Front,’ and they're looking for current or vintage letters written by Service Members. The letters will be shared via WGN-TV's online comment board, which will serve as a virtual museum of our soldiers’ experiences, past and present. In the week leading up to Memorial Day, WGN-TV News will present some of the stories gathered about...

As a Veteran, you know you're only as strong as the people who've got your back. That’s why we're pumped that someone like UFC Fighter Demian Maia has ours. A few months back, Demian filmed a video in support of Vets Prevail - if you haven't gotten a chance to check it out, you can watch it here. And now it's time for Vets Prevail to get Demian's back - and yours, too. Demian has a big fight coming up: he's battling Anderson Silva in UFC 112 this Saturday - and we're giving away a Vets Prevail t-shirt signed by Demian! Anyone's...

Hey Vets Prevailers - Just wanted to give you a quick heads-up about some of the scholarships and loan programs out there for members of the military community and their families. With tuition continuously on the rise, it's getting harder and harder to pay for a college education. Luckily, there are several options out there to ease the burden for troops and vets - and we've highlighted a few for you. But now's the time to apply - some of the deadlines are as early as March 1st, less than a week away! Click on the links for more information. Vice...

I want to share a story from one of the members of our Community. She has been a strong supporter of Vets Prevail and a positive influence on its development. Her story, and the story of her husband, remind us what is at stake in ensuring our service members get the mental health support they need: <<My name is Miranda Kruse, wife of CPO Jerald Kruse of the United States Navy. On January 1, 2006 Jerald put a gun to his head and commited suicide. Jerald had less than a year before he hit his 20 year retirement mark. Jerald...

As many of you know by now, The Oprah Winfrey show is going to do an episode to raise awareness about PTSD, and the producers have asked Vets Prevail to help find a veteran or current service member to be on the show. They are looking for someone who has been deployed to OEF/ OIF and is currently affected by PTSD as a result. Thank you to everyone who has already submitted his or her story. The producers are still considering these stories, but the filming date for the show has been pushed back, so they would like to hear...

Over the weekend Vets Prevail formed another partnership. It’s one that should prove exciting for our users, and it also raises some interesting questions. iCardGiftCard.com has agreed to provide Vets Prevail with gift cards at a very reasonable rate that we can use as rewards for completing milestones in the program. iCard was excited to do something to help out the military population, and we’re grateful for their support. As a small token of our appreciation, I can’t resist a quick plug: going into the holiday season, if any of you want to purchase a flexible gift card that you...
