Opportunity for Military Kids

This information was sent to me yesterday, and I thought I'd pass it along to you. I know we have a lot of military parents around here - in fact, we've had some discussion on our forums lately about raising kids in the military. So, for all you parents, nominations for the 2010 Military Child Award close February 25th - next Thursday! If you're not familiar with the Military Child Award, it's an award presented by Operation Homefront and Lockheed Martin that rewards the service and sacrifice of the children of our Service Members - something that so often goes unrecognized. The winner will receive $5,000 and will be flown with a parent to Washington, D.C. for the awards ceremony. Anyone can nominate a child, and the only restrictions are that they must be between the ages of 8-18, and they must be enrolled in the Defense Eligibility Enrollment Reporting System (DEERS).

The deadline is coming up, so if you know a child that you think deserves to be recognized, click here to apply. Vets - and their families - will Prevail!
